I’m real happy to get in on the Max and Chris “Burn Baby Burn!” CD swap ” which apparently got way too big for it’s britches. :)~ All those winding up on my swap list can look for the “punkarella so called summertime burn list” week #8 next Friday to see what you will be recieving in the mail. Not to break the rules or anything but even if you aren’t on my given swap list I’ll still trade with you. Especially if you have any of the missing songs I want. hint hint

+Guess what else?+

I’m not real sure if I like this or not. But just when you thought that you’d seen everything in the saga known as David Lee Roth/Van Halen/Sammy Hagar, something new and confounding presents itself. Earlier today, Sammy Hagar’s website,www.redrocker.com is reporting Sammy and Dave are going on tour together this summer.

Some say it’s for real too.

+Rolling Stone Claims to know the Top 50 Cool Albums+

#1 “cool” album is Velvet Underground’s 1968 release, “White Light/White Heat”.
#2 thru #50.

While I dwell on these go look at the 25 for sure cool albums.

Sunday, March 17, 2002 This 20 foot radio controlled Korn shaped blimp was flown over the crowd during their 2000 Sick and Twisted Tour. When the venue was too small to fly in, they inflated it and placed it on the stage as a prop.

KornGate

Korn’s entire new album titled “Untouchable” recently leaked online in mp3 form under the colorful working titles such as “When Balls Touch”, “Jesus Is Mexican”, “Donuts And Porno” and more. The album’s release was supposed to be June 11, but now has been moved up to May 14th supposedly due to the internet leak.[via PRP]

Sounds like some publicity hookey to me.

The actual track listing has slipped out as well and is rumored to be as follows:

01 – “From Your Heart” – (3:53)
02 – “Chasing Me” – (4:42)
03 – “Full Of Sorrow” – (4:04)
04 – “Tear Me Down” – (4:34)
05 – “In Place” – (4:48)
06 – “I Want To Be Gone” – (4:33)
07 – “Here To Stay” – (4:31)
08 – “Falling Through Time” – (4:09)
09 – “All My Hate” – (3:27)
10 – “Leave This Place” – (5:02)
11 – “Corners Of My Mind” – (4:45)
12 – “Help Me Stay Alive” – (4:23)
13 – “Make It Go Away” – (4:18)
14 – “Everything That I Could Find” – (5:11)

You can hear the album’s first single, “Here To Stay”,
posted yesterday on Korn’s website.

More interesting than internet music leakage…

Jonathan Davis of Korn commissioned H.R.Giger to design a bio-mechanical mic stand in the shape of an erotic female.
Jonathan Davis of Korn

Only five stands were manufactured at a foundry in Zurich from molds that were destroyed instantly adding to their historic allure and value. Jonathan received two of the stands and an option for the third, should he decide he needs it or to make one available to a museum of his choice. The other two belong to Giger, one earmarked for permanent display at the H.R. Giger Museum in Switzerland, the other to be used in his gallery exhibitions. The mic stand was also featured in Revolver and Maxim.

Saturday, March 16, 2002 NEW TOYS!

In honor of Wrestlemania and the Rock taking on the Hulkster, I give you my transcription of the lyrics to “I Stand Alone” by Godsmack:

00:00 – 00:22
Intro Music

00:23 – 00:44
Now I’ve told you this once before
Can’t control me
If you try to take me down your gonna fail
Now feel your _______ _______
Nothing that you’re doing for me
I’m thinking you are the failure of the _______.

00:45 – 00:56
I Stand Alone
Inside
I Stand Alone
Stand Alone (echo)

00:57 – 01:24
You’re always hounding me and your so called goddess
So what you don’t think that we can see your face
You resurrected back before the final falling
Now I’ll never rest until I can make my own way
I’m not afraid of fading.

01:25 – 02:02
I Stand Alone
You and your stink down inside
Hey…I’m not dying for it
I Stand Alone
Everything that I believe is fading
I Stand Alone
Inside
I Stand Alone

more in a few

Here’s another version of the lyrics.

Here are the Queen of the Damned soundrack lyrics, including “Redeemer” by Marilyn Manson, “Forsaken” by David Draiman of Distubed, and “Slept So Long” by Jay Gordon of Orgy.

And by the way…

oh for fuckin sakes...my #2 favorite killer of all timeIf I was a serial killer I would be
Jack the Ripper
.

Jack the Ripper, by far the most notorious killer of all time. What would drive a man to kill 5 prostitutes, surgically mutilate the bodies, then stop, to never be heard from again? Most of the murders were pretty much the same, the victim had her throat cut and her abdomen exposed, the intestines were placed over her right shoulder and sometimes a kidney or even the heart had been removed.

Jack the Ripper’s murders are still unsolved.

Kill count: 5

Who is your inner Serial Killer?

Friday, March 15, 2002 Chaucer's Canterbury Tales
“You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting. In what world could you possibly beat me?”

If you want to get someone interested in reading the Canterbury Tales , don’t say anything. Go rent “A Knight’s Tale”. After they see actor Paul Bettany play the part of Chaucer in the movie you can explain how he(Chaucer)was the David Lynch of medieval times.

Hack the Matrix.

A good reason to visit Atlanta in May: Music Midtown Festival.
Mostly cause David Lee Roth will be there. Don’t laugh.
You only wish you were that cool. :)~

OZZFEST News
Civilian, the new group featuring Chris Cornell with members of Rage Against The Machine, have now been officially confirmed for this years U.S. Ozzfest trek. They were confirmed for the tour in an interview with Sharon Osbourne on KROQ in Los Angeles, CA this morning and will be playing direct support to System Of A Down. The bands debut album is expected out in the summer/fall, tentatively through Epic.[via PRP]

However…they won’t be able to use the name “Civilian” for some legal reason.
The name wasn’t that great anyway. :)~

Monday, March 11, 2002 tairrie b of my ruin

growl … STICK IT TO ME in your most scary voice and you won’t even come close …

Kittie and My Ruin are going on a tour together later this month. I saw Kittie play when they were on 2nd stage at Ozzfest 2000(I thought they sucked but the little boys liked them)and they are rumored to be moving up to first stage for Ozzfest 2002. But
BMF introduced me to My Ruin and they are the ones I really want to see. So let’s hope the “Fuck Yer Label” tour makes it to Atlanta. Why “Fuck Yer Label?”

All I really know is you don’t want to fuck with Morgan Lander’s clit or well anything belonging to Tairrie B. as far as I’m concerned.

Interview with Tairrie B.
Interview with Morgan Lander.

A delicate and warm website.

I love you too Post Atomic.

Ani DiFranco will be at the Tabernacle in Atlanta on April 29.

Sunday, March 10, 2002 Scorpion King soundtrack
I STAND ALONE … all you Godsmack freaks. :)~~

Ok I’ll quit teasing since I’m getting about 80 hits a day for people wanting the lyrics to “I Stand Alone” and other hip cool Top 40 songs. Once upon a time, 1 2 3 4 years ago…Godsmack and Sully Erna awed me the first I saw their video for “Whatever” which at that time only played late at night on MTV. I went out the next day and bought their debut album, “Godsmack”. Its still one of my favorites and the cover art is one of the best. They were fresh and intense and Sully has an incredible voice. Other than Black Sabbath and Rob Zombie they were the main act I wanted to see perform at Ozzfest in 1999.

I have been most disappointed with their follow up stuff as it seems they have become too mainstream and lack the intensity they had in the first album. They have become more or less Creed-like with a big yawn. But I really want to like these guys so I was a little excited to find out they would be introducing a new song for the Scorpion King soundtrack.

I added it to my weekly burn list.

It’s the worst song on there. It’s basically a one lyric song which goes like this… I STAND ALONE… but I’ll try to transcribe it and post it in the next couple of days. Maybe it will give me the true meaning of the Rock since it was written just for this movie as an ode to the Scorpion King. You can see the video which promotes the movie here in real player format. The prophecy is upon us.

The Scorpion King deserves a real ass kicking trademark song like “Binge and Purge” by Clutch. Lead singer, Neil Fallon also has an amazing voice. Clutch is currently on tour with System of a Down.

Go Motherfucker Go.

I wish Ozzy would adopt me.

Ozzfest 2002 Lineup.

*()^*^****&((_(*)N(*(N ….. my fucking cable is still out.

Samples of Wisdom about The Osbournes

“Yes, yes, yes! The best part (besides stee) is that Sharon Osbourne became one of the most feared and loathed women in the music industry. Motley Crue are afraid of her! She fell in love with Ozzy many millions of years ago, when he was a shirtless, unsigned mongrel that wore a kitchen faucet around his neck as jewlery. Now, they’re big fat millionares, with kids that are so going to be industry geniuses in a few years. Oh my god, I am so excited. They’ve been on cribs *twice*! Reality shows just came back from the dead.”

“OH MY GOD. I’m watching Good Morning America and Charles Gibson and Diane Sawyer are TALKING about the show!!! Holy crap! They’re doing a whole segment on it. Anyway…”

“…my parents have said the sex-condom thing to me before…it is very embarrassing trust me……i liked the part where ozzys talking to the cat asking if it wanted its head bitten off or whatever…ozzy reminds me of them old people who run around hitting people with canes..i love it…”

Jack: You know what? I’m an ass-kicking fat kid!
Ozzy: What?
Jack: Nothing.

punkarella’s new motto…

Lots of Concert Pictures … if you like that kind of thing. And I do.

Regarding Johnathan Davis and Queen of the Damned.
“Forsaken” music video from “Queen of the Damned” by Satan’s Night Out.

“The real honors of this film should be given to the lead singer of KoRn, who actually showed Townsend how to become a rock star. Not to mention lent his vocal talents for all the singing parts in the actual film. Sadly enough you wont find him singing the songs on the soundtrack. Hes been replaced by a few familiar faces in the hard rock world. I guess I should also give credit to Aussie director Paul Goldman who directed the music videos for the fictional band. The direction in those videos was actually superb, and may be the only reason to pick up this DVD in the future. That is if they are smart enough to add the music videos into the DVD release. Overall youre better off waiting for the DVD either way.”[via this place]

The Burn Baby Burn Challenge – Week #4

I’m late.

NEEDED

The Resident Evil Soundtrack. (hint: “Cleansing” from Burn Baby Burn-Week #2 is there.)

R.E.M. “Baby Baby”(by The Vibrators. Mills handled lead vocal on this 1991 studio recording by R.E.M., released to their fan club on the annual Christmas 7″ vinyl single)

Mmmm…You’re so pretty
Not to talk to you would be a crime
Let me put my arms around you
Just wanna use up a little of your time

And I’m going…
Baby baby baby
Baby baby baby
Baby baby baby
Won’t you be my girl?

Andre Williams, Andre Williams, Andre Williams
“Let Me Put It In”
“This is the music that makes the upstanding white folks leave the club. Williams sings about drinking, fucking, drugs, and more, in a bluesy stumble that Spencer’s Boosexposion attempts frequently and (these days) seldom achieves. Andre’s deep voice seems to have a permanent leer, and the man oozes passion without resorting to metaphor, while the minimalist backing makes enough racket to convince the listener that Williams is not a lone pervert. “Looking Down At You — Looking Up At Me” is the perfect driving song for 3 AM, with a ghostly guitar strum striding alongside rimshots and bass drum thump. Come to think of it, this disc has something for the all-night, all-day road trip: “Pussy Stank” for 1 PM…” [via Ink19]

“Algebra” by Soul Hooligan.

“Sex and Outrage” is a Motorhead song covered by the Supersuckers on a single in 1991.
