Ruyter went one on one with Livewire’s Phil Bonyata sometime last month before they left on tour:

“Yes sir, I love 70s music. I don’t know, I dig real classic rock like Zeppelin. We’re all huge Zeppelin fiends! Lately, it’s been really bad. On the last tour we’ve been listening to the whole box set and listen to 10 hours straight of Zeppelin, then we start listening to the Black Crowes doing Zeppelin. It’s gotten really fucking bad about our Zeppelin, man. We’ve got about 50 hours of Zeppelin boots on the road with us. We have tons of Stones shit, too. We’ve been rediscovering the Who lately. I saw the Who in high school in something like ’84 or ’83 and they were quite amazing. That was their first last tour. We saw Tenacious D. We saw them play at South By Southwest two years ago. It was fucking great, it was like 1 in the morning and they were playing for about 800 drunks. About 200 drunks knew all the words, now everybody knows the words!”[read more]

The European OZzfest is cancelled because Zakk Wylde is suffering from exhaustion. Then Ozzy gets sued over a t-shirt design. But he stole the show at Buckingham Palace.

Back from the Redneck Riveria…

I took four cd’s with me down to Flordia. The three Nashville Pussy albums and a BMF mix consisting of Clutch, The Cramps, Iggy Pop, Dope, Slaves on Dope, Mary Prankster, Impotent Sea Snakes, Elvis, Gillian Welch, Dead Boys, Marilyn Manson, The Pixies, Zen Guerilla, and Nashville Pussy. I was told by a nineteen year old that she didn’t like any of my music, but instead wanted to hear the likes of Bright Eyes, Alkaline Trio, and Dashboard Confessional. I agreed we would take turns being I have such an open mind. After listening to 26 songs by Alkaline Trio I had to pull the plug. I inserted the first album, Let Them Eat Pussy, and clicked right over to the last track, “Fried Chicken and Coffee”. She almost got thru it before finally screaming “STOP! …it’s just noise. It sounds like trailer trash music!”.

I replied, “Exactly”.

BMF! This is really fuckin’ cool!

A lot of good things have come from the computer. You can get whatever information you need at a touch, you can communicate with people from all over the world, PORN…and best of all, it lets us taste the music. A while back when I was just a little innocent cyberrr girl I met a guy who would rip wavs from his collection of nasty punk rock music and send them to me. He admits at first he was just trying to shock me, but I loved those little wavs the most because I could hear him in the background along with the music. It turned me on and I wanted more. So he gave me more and he taught me how to make the wavs and his influence on me was great. He told me what music I needed to go get…so I went and got it, but I always liked it better when he gave the music to me. He knew so much about who was playing it, when they played it, what he thought they meant by playing it and he patiently explained it to me. He still does. And I fell in love with him.

Mainly cause he gave me my first taste of Nashville Pussy. :)~

He downloads everything. He’s like a fuckin suckin vacuum when it comes to wanting new music. So a while back I thought I’d give him a weekly burn list with at least one or two obscure songs to test him along with a BMF hidden track so he could surprise me. 🙂 And now it’s turned into a fun little project called Burn Baby Burn. You might have noticed the burn list updated weekly over there in the links. Last night he surprised me by making a oh so cool webpage that organizes the music on those burn lists. It lists what music he’s found and what he needs to complete each week’s burn, plus he’s made it just so damn easy for you to burn your own. So if you have any of the missing music…be sweet and share! 🙂 Later on we will list all the CD’s we bought to find some of this music. A lot of Nine Pound Hammer! And if you haven’t listened to Andre Williams … don’t delay and “Let Me Put It In” right now…

Oh yeah and look for the special AC/DC bonus list dedicated to Steve Stephens… who burned a tattoooo into his skin in tribute to Nashville Pussy! Now that’s rock and roll baby.

And remember … marijuana can be the backbone of creativity. So go get high and create something.

When you are away from home … this can remind you of loved ones.

Nashville Pussy leaves Cincinnati where they played at Bogart’s last night and will be at The Newport Music Hall in Columbus, Ohio tonight. They accept cash only? Then tomorrow they travel over to Pittsburgh to play Saturday night at the Metropol before heading back South for a week in Flordia. It seems a very tall band called Syrup will be playing third wheel on the Flordia part of the run with the Streetwalkin’ Cheetahs rejoining the tour once it heads back up to Atlanta.

That’s right…next Saturday they come back home to play in Atlanta. Hell yeah and allright.

Nashville Pussy and The Streetwalkin Cheetahs along with White Devils will be playing at the Water Street Music Hall in Rochester NY while the Reverend Horton Heat stays in New York City so he can appear on Late Night with Conan O’ Brien tonight. I hope he plays “Galaxy 500“.

The tour’s going great! As most of you know already our second bass player Tracy quit last month and has been replaced by Miss KatieLynn Campbell from Kentucky. KatieLynn is fitting into the band super easily!! She’s rocked harder than a fatherfucker for 17 shows now and is getting more rockin by the day! Our new record, tentatively titled ‘Say Something Nasty’ (featuring Keep On Fucking!) looks like it will be out on Artemis records . We hope the record will be out in April! Blaine’s Birthday was March 7th!!!! So all naked pictures can be sent directly here to us or our POBox in Atlanta!! Keep ’em coming!! Come on out and see the pussy in person- this tour has been excellent- we’re sorry to see Split Lip Rayfield go- they were superb- and whoda thunk bluegrass can still kick that much ass-but they were the perfect compliment to this tour – hopefully we’ll met up with them on ethe road- I know they’re playing SXSW (They’re on BLOODSHOT Records) LOVE the PUSSIES!!!!!!!!!!! ruyter, blaine, jeremy and the newest addition: KATIELYNN CAMPBELL
