While in NYC, I’ve really enjoyed getting back to the basics – eating fruits, veggies, and protein without
anya lot of extra crap.My diet basically (not exactly) broke down like this:
- Eye Opener: Organic Avenue** green juice
- Bottle of water
- Breakfast: Organic Avenue Smoothie (OMG, so good)
- Bottle of water
- Lunch: Veggie salad (romaine, spinach, peppers, broccoli, tomatoes, cucumber) without dressing
- Snack: A big handful of raw nuts with dried fruit and/or Organic Avenue Cacao or Mint Chocolate smoothie
- Bottle of water
- Dinner: Filet of fish with minimal sauce. Sauteed veggies. A little bread or rice. 2 glasses of wine/cocktails.
- Dessert (I’d be lying if I said I didn’t indulge).
I never thought I would say this, but I haven’t missed cookies AT all! Whoa….
I think my body was so overloaded with all of the Houston goodness that it feels rejuvinated by the rush of nutrients uninhibited by sauces, salt, and sugar.
It didn’t occur to me until now that I wasn’t getting any protein in the morning, which is odd for me. There isn’t any almond butter in the house, which might be why. (I love that stuff).
As I’ll be traveling a lot in the next few weeks, this raw wave won’t last long, but I really did enjoy it for these last few days.
