Almost two years ago we purchased a LG refrigerator, LG dishwasher and LG washer and dryer. The corporate office for LG is based in Seoul, Korea and the CEO is Yong Nam. We regret to inform Mr. Nam we have only poor experiences to report with these LG appliances as all have required service over the the past two years. The refrigerator has required three service visits and just this morning the washer experienced a LE (life error!) warning.

Fortunately we paid the extra $500 or so for extended warranties when we bought these monsters. But ain’t it a shame we had to use any kind of warranty at all within two years of purchase? Just last week I was advised not to buy anything but European appliances in the future. I take that warning a lot more seriously this morning after transferring dripping wet clothes across the house into a bathtub.
