Palin v. Letterman

Letterman in his monologue on June 9th: “One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game, during the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.”

That made Palin mad. (or maybe she was already mad

Letterman responded last night saying the joke was aimed at 18-year-old Bristol Palin, not Willow: “We were, as we often do, making jokes about people in the news and we made some jokes about Sarah Palin and her daughter [Bristol]… and now they’re upset with me…” Letterman said.

Letterman probably didn’t even write the joke. It sounded more like something a younger TMZ bred kinda guy would write. But if Letterman is responsible for the joke gone bad, that means Palin could be right and Letterman is a dirty old man just for pandering to men who let those kinky thoughts even enter into their brain, regardless if it was the 18 year old daughter or the 14 year old daughter. Just because a girl turns 18 and already has a baby doesn’t mean she should be creepy thought bait. There is a distinct line between what a young TMZ guy type can get away with where a guy over 30 should know better.

Palin is a looney tune for exposing any of her children to the media circus in the first place, but she is right for defending her children. Now the best thing for her to do is shut up and go away. Could we also get Elizabeth Hasselbeck to go with her?
