It never crossed my mind that any other female
rocker could possibly replace my #1 favorite…

but on Saturday nite I fell for Mary Prankster. Mary is like having Joan Jett as your best friend.
On stage she’s tough and wild and funny and no
matter what nasty word comes out of her mouth
it still comes off as adorable and funny.
(And they still won’t play her stuff on the radio)
Then after she’s done playing she gives you a big
hug and makes you feel even better you showed up.
Plus she has good hair … and is very stylish. (very important !)
And what makes it cool is because she’s genuine…it has to be genuine when the cover
charge is only $5 to see 2 out of 3 really good
bands(!ouch!)in a room that holds maybe 100 people
and a lot of those people are in the other bands. What fuckin passion!
Plus I saw Mary giving away some of her stuff to
people. I could say it was the Budweiser but I think
its more because Mary is just a real nice person.
So anyway I’ve been listening to Mary for a long
time now and I got to see her on her inaugural
visit to Atlanta and I hope she keeps coming back.
And I hope its at the Earl again because I love the
bathroom graffiti and the way the people sit out in
the front on the sidewalk to all hours of the night.
It reminds me of that hippie boarding house my
grandmother used to run on 8th street.
Damn.
p.s.s.s. update from MC – 1/25/17 – my BMF found the MP3 of *Irresponsible Woman*
for me as he tended to do. He was everything to me. BMF – 1968 to 2016
And “fuck” became a common word over a 15 year span of time.
