“He definitely does have that Zen-like quality to him.”
It was quite a difference from the picture Carradine painted of himself in the old days. In a 2004 interview with The Associated Press, Carradine talked candidly about his wild ways, saying he had not taken a drink since 1996 but that he had experimented with “a lot of psychotropic drugs” decades earlier.
He said he gave up alcohol because “I didn’t like the way I looked for one thing. You’re kind of out of control emotionally when you drink that much. I was quicker to anger.”
“Carradine had Sun square both Saturn and Neptune in his birth chart in a configuration called a t-square. A t-square is like a table with only three legs…it takes a lot of effort and balance to keep the table from tipping over. The constant testing often leads to success when the energies are mastered.
Saturn is currently at 15 Virgo, opposite Saturn in Carradine’s birth chart, square his Sun and conjunct his Neptune — all very challenging transits that feel heavy or depressing and, in this case, bring enough weight to ‘tip the table’. Saturn has been around since last fall but today’s position of the Sun, at 14 Gemini, brought everything to a crisis point.” ~the reluctant astrologer
